Maître Alain BELPAUME

The master Alain BELPAUME took over the ASBouillargues Escrime club (France) in 2009.

He continued training in Fréjus and Aix-en-Provence for this launch into the visually impaired fencing adventure.

A partnership was set up in 2012 with the ARAMAV (Association for the Reintegration of the Blind and Visually Impaired) Nîmes (France). The Bouillargues Escrime club saw around one hundred ARAMAV patients, around twenty monitors and French fencing master.

For 8 years with his wife Nathalie president of the club, they have continued to develop the practice in the Languedoc region and throughout France by offering to organize training.

In April 2018, the Rennes Métropole club brought together several Breton fencing masters to raise awareness of visually impaired fencing.

For 2 seasons the club has been welcoming STAPS trainees (Sienceset Techniques des Activities Physiques et Sportives) for their various internships planned in their training.

Students who turn to our club turn to sports activities for people with disabilities.

Currently we can practice visually impaired fencing in Paris, Ivry, Guebwiller, Nice, Lyon, Bron, Dinan, Lanion, Avignon and Bouillargues to our knowledge.

It is at the initiative of Nathalie BELPAUME that the Non and Visually Impaired Fencing project through the ERASMUS + Sport program was born for this innovative and inclusive sport practice.
